Life 101 Event Branding

Background

During my junior year of college, I was asked to develop speculative event that I felt was needed on campus. Once I had considered my audience, purpose, and goals, I would then need to create branding for the event. Thinking back on my own experience, I often found myself frustrated by just how little high school had prepared me for the real world. Where were the cooking classes?  How about car repair courses? Or even courses about career possibilities?  Even at the age of 22 I know people who haven’t learned how to file their own taxes. Had there been an event where these issues were addressed, I likely would have felt much more prepared for the real world. And just like that, I had my idea.

Proposal

For this project I created branding for a speculative event intended to help college students feel more comfortable with the transition to adulthood. The event would take place for three days, right before the beginning of the school year and would feature courses on topics such as: housekeeping, self care, interview prep, and potential career paths. Panels would also be held, featuring alumni, guest speakers from different industries, and inspirational speakers, meant to motivate students moving forward.
